We, at the Konami Group, have pursued business opportunities in the segments of Digital Entertainment, Amusement, Gaming & Systems, and Sports, in the two business sectors of "entertainment" and "sports." By providing customers with products and services that offer "Valuable Time" through such business activities, we strive to live up to the trust and expectations of our stakeholders as well as contribute to the development of a sustainable society.
In addition, KOZUKI FOUNDATION is devoted to contributing to society through the development of business activities that are truly needed by society, such as sports-related activities which aim to train top athletes, and by providing subsidies to educational and cultural related activities.
With regards to our CSR initiatives through our business in the Digital Entertainment business, we cooperated with "Kumamoto Kids Exhibition 2016," a special event providing children in the disaster area affected by the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake, with an opportunity to play with each other, which brought big smiles on their faces through KONAMI’s card games.
As for our reconstruction efforts for areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, we held a "Kids Dancing Class" in Rikuzentakata City, Iwate Prefecture to help promote healthy living for children, by drawing on the expertise gained from the operation of the dancing class for children called "Dancing Stars" that is available at Konami Sports Club facilities nationwide. We also began to offer an "Exercise Program for Seniors" in Kesennuma City, Iwate Prefecture to prevent various disorders in seniors, including disuse syndrome and locomotive syndrome. In addition, we developed "Dosukoi Taiso" at the request of Katsuragi City, Nara Prefecture to provide support for health promoting initiatives in local communities.
Overseas, the new office building (in Las Vegas, U.S.A.) of Konami Gaming, Inc., a Konami Group company engaged in the Gaming & Systems business, has been recognized as an energy-saving and environmentally-friendly building, obtaining Silver LEED Certification. The new office building promotes the creation of a workplace environment that takes both resource-saving and employees' health into consideration by installing features such as an air conditioning system that utilizes geothermal energy, and LED lighting.
